Qlyphs, explained.
Start with tokens. Understand Quarks. Learn how to create, send and trade your assets, from the first wallet connection to a final transaction.
Three things. Three different roles.
Tokens and Quarks are assets you create and hold on Quantus. QTC is the network currency you use to pay fees and the price of a trade.
- Tokens
A balance of interchangeable units.
Each token has a symbol, a maximum supply and rules for creating new units. You can mint an amount, send part of your balance or offer it for sale.
- Quarks
One numbered item with one owner.
A drawing, text or small file written on chain. Its number identifies the item; you send or sell the whole Quark.
- QTC
The currency for fees and payments.
Keep spendable QTC in your connected wallet. Creating a token does not create QTC, and a token balance cannot pay your network fees.
Your first visit
Browse tokens, open one and check its minting rules. When you want to act, connect and prepare your wallet. Review the cost, approve in your wallet and follow the transaction until it is final.
Tokens
Creating a token defines its rules. Minting creates units of that token. These are separate actions, with separate fees.
- Find a token. Open Tokens and use the symbol filter or the All, Minting and Minted tabs. The progress bar shows how much of the maximum supply has been minted.
- Read its rules. Open the token to see its maximum supply, amount per mint, decimals and mint policy. An open mint allows anyone to mint; an issuer mint allows only its creator.
- Mint an amount. Connect your wallet and use Mint on the token page. Stay within the per-mint limit and remaining supply. Review the 0.01 QTC Qlyphs fee plus the network fee in your wallet.
- Manage your balance. Find it in My assets. On the token page, use Send for a transfer or Sell to create an offer for a specific buyer.
Create your own token
Choose an available symbol of 1–12 characters (A–Z and 0–9), a maximum supply, an amount per mint, 0–18 decimals and who can mint. Zero decimals means whole units only. The amount per mint cannot exceed the maximum supply.
These rules are fixed at creation, including for the creator. Symbol availability is checked before approval, but another claim in the same block can still win; the creation fee is not refunded.
Quarks
A Quark stores its content on chain and receives a number when its creation is accepted. The content cannot be edited or deleted afterwards. Two Quarks can contain the same image or text; their numbers identify separate items.
- Compose. Choose Draw, Text or File in Create a Quark. The content budget is about 1 KB and varies by content type. Use the size meter for the exact limit.
- Review. Check the preview, content type and size before continuing. Creation costs 0.1 QTC in Qlyphs fees, plus the wallet’s network fee.
- Approve and follow. Approve in your wallet. Open the new Quark from the result or from My assets, and follow its transaction to finality.
- Send or sell. Open a Quark you own. Send transfers the whole item to the recipient address; Sell starts a direct offer. Verify the recipient before approving.
The gallery’s Latest tab shows recent Quarks, Listed shows those offered for sale and Mine shows yours when connected. Open any Quark to inspect its owner, creator and content details.
Trade with a named buyer
Every offer is a direct agreement between a seller and one buyer. Anyone can browse offers, but only the address named in an offer can buy it. The price is paid in QTC.
- Choose the asset and buyer. In Create an offer, choose a Quark or token amount you hold, enter the buyer’s wallet address, then set a price and expiry.
- Open a trading pair. The seller creates a shared, two-party account that holds the offer. Do this once per buyer. Wait for that transaction to become final before listing.
- List the offer. Approve the listing in your wallet. The offered asset is locked until the offer is bought, cancelled or expired. The buyer must wait for the listing to become final.
- The buyer reviews and pays. With the named account connected, the offer appears under Offers for you in Market. Check the asset, quantity, seller, price and fee, then approve Buy in the wallet.
- Confirm the result. Follow the purchase until final and check My assets. The buyer receives the asset; the seller receives the listed QTC price directly.
When purchases are paused
A purchase requires two post-quantum witnesses: two signers that attest to the market state for the wallet. If the network has not configured them, Buy is disabled and the wallet refuses payment. Listing and cancellation remain available.
Sellers can cancel a live offer from Your offers in Market. Expiry is measured in blocks; the displayed time is an estimate, and the reservation ends once the chain passes the expiry block.
Prepare your wallet
Browsing needs no connection. Creating, minting, sending and trading need a Qlyphs Wallet account and enough spendable QTC on the test network. The platform asks for approval; your wallet checks and signs the transaction.
- Open Qlyphs Keys first. Open this network’s wallet at keys-testnet.qlyphs.com (opens in a new tab) in a separate tab. Create or restore your account there, then unlock it. Keep your recovery phrase in a safe place; never enter it into a platform form.
- Return and connect. Come back to the platform and select Connect wallet in the header. Allow the wallet window if your browser blocks it, check the account and network, then approve the connection. The connection window requires an already prepared wallet.
- Check your QTC. Use your wallet and My assets to check the connected address and balance. Incoming QTC must become final before it is spendable. Keep some QTC for network fees, even for a transfer with no Qlyphs fee.
Qlyphs Keys is normally hosted at keys.qlyphs.com. This network uses keys-testnet.qlyphs.com; use the link above so the wallet matches the platform.
An asset or offer can belong to a different account from the one currently connected. If Send, Sell or Buy is unavailable, check the owner or named buyer against your active wallet address.
Know what you pay
There are two kinds of fees. The platform shows the fixed Qlyphs protocol fee before approval. Your wallet shows the additional network fee for the transaction.
| Action | Qlyphs fee |
|---|---|
| Create a token | 1 QTC |
| Mint tokens | 0.01 QTC per mint |
| Create a Quark | 0.1 QTC |
| Send tokens or a Quark | No Qlyphs fee |
| Open a pair, list or cancel an offer | No Qlyphs fee |
| Buy an offer | 1% of the price, paid by the buyer |
A purchase fee is added on top of the price and rounded up to the smallest QTC unit. For a 10 QTC offer, the seller receives 10 QTC and the buyer pays 10.1 QTC, plus the network fee. “No Qlyphs fee” still means a network fee is payable.
From approval to finality
The transaction panel at the bottom right follows each action. A success message or an asset appearing on a page can arrive before the transaction is final. Use the panel to check its stage.
Confirm in wallet
Check the action, recipient, amounts and fees. Approve only when they match what you intend.
Sent
The transaction has been submitted. Wait for inclusion; do not submit the same action again.
In a block
The transaction is included, but is still waiting for finality.
Final
The transaction has reached finality. The wallet can proceed with the next operation.
The current test network may take about 20 minutes to finalize. Timing varies with the network. The wallet processes one operation at a time per account and waits for the previous one to become final.
If something stops you
The wallet will not connect or reports a verification failure.
First open the wallet from Wallet setup, create or restore your account if needed, and unlock it. Then return here and connect again. A verification failure can also mean the wallet’s network or trusted configuration does not match the platform. Read the wallet’s error details and check the network; do not bypass its verification checks.
My balance is visible, but I cannot spend it.
Incoming QTC may still be waiting for finality. Check the spendable balance and the transaction panel. You also need enough QTC for the action’s protocol fee and the network fee, even when you already hold tokens or Quarks.
I cannot mint this token.
Check whether the supply is fully minted, whether the requested amount exceeds the per-mint limit or remaining supply, and whether the token allows anyone to mint. Issuer-only tokens require the creator’s account.
I can see an offer, but I cannot buy it.
Check that your connected address is the named buyer, the offer is final and has not expired, and you have spendable QTC for the price and fees. If Market says purchases are paused, the network’s required witnesses are unavailable.
A transaction failed or its outcome is unknown.
Read the detail in the transaction panel. For an unknown outcome, check your wallet history and the transaction’s explorer link before retrying: it may already have been submitted. The platform does not automatically resend it. For a failed action, resolve the reported cause before submitting a new one.
